My Candidate

Let me take the time to officially announce my support of my chosen candidate. This is a decision that has been a long time in the making and has come with plenty of contemplation.

Sen. McCain has c0-sponsored many bills in his time and most of them with radical-left Senators and they have all been disastrous examples of legislation. He is a donkey in an elephant costume and the only reason I would vote for him to be president would be to get him out of the Senate.

Thompson has some good ideas but he showed up to the party too late with too little. He's been out of the scene for too long and no longer has the political position or support to win a campaign.

Giuliani is another donkey in elephant costume. His stand on the 2nd Amendment, abortion and many others is lock-step with the Dems. His credibility is also highly flawed.

Huckabee lost any semblance of support the day he showed his bigotry. And, God wants him to be president? What kind of campaign slogan is that?

Hunter showed well at first by campaigning for ideas that best matched my own; however, he never had any support and without that... Besides, he's dropped from the race now.

Ron Paul claims to be the real conservative and he does show well in the ultra conservative field where I spend a lot of time, however, if he's Right he's so far Right that he's hanging out with the Radical Left; at least that's where his voting record places him.

So, who's left?

Romney started low with some questionable prior political positions. I can see much of this because he governed the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts and his later positions are more in line with what I would assume are his core beliefs. Now his religious views... can you believe we are talking about a man's religion in this campaign? But, since it came up... If you had spent as much time as I have around Mormons (officially known as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or Latter Day Saints (LDS) for short) you would know that this is a plus. Few organizations promote integrity as much as the LDS. Now if you still think you shouldn't vote for a Mormon because his beliefs about Jesus are different from your own, you should read this. Few rich city boys share my interest in guns so I wouldn't expect him to be able to mimic or even quote Cooper but he is a member of the NRA. His stand on immigration may not be perfect but it's a workable plan.

Now this is what sealed the deal. With all the talk lately of an unavoidable recession coming, I can think of nobody better in the Executive Office than a man with a long standing track record of fixing failing organizations. He turned around the 2002 Olympics, many failing business, and the Massachusetts economy. That platform along can defeat anything the Dems can dish out.

Oh yeah, I don't want to miss this one. He understands that losing in Iraq is not an option and he won't leave me in a place like Somalia without mission critical equipment like armor.
